Michelle Graves, L.Ac
Michelle Graves, Licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist, has a master’s degree in Oriental medicine from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco. She also did post graduate training in Hangzhou in Zhejiang Provence of China. While in China, she spent time in various hospital and clinical settings studying gynecology, oncology, pain management & mental health. She is also a Diplomate of Acupuncture, NCCAOM (National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine).
Also, Michelle is a board certified Fellow with the American Board of Reproductive Medicine (ABORM). This is a concentrated subspecialty in Fertility & Reproductive Medicine within the field of Oriental Medicine. The ABORM board was formed by leading professionals in the field of Oriental Reproductive Medicine to set a standard of care to ensure that practitioners who are treating patients in the field of Reproductive Health are doing so with qualified knowledge and experience.
Michelle uses her skills in holistic medical traditions to address primary health issues and provide overall wellness care. Her focused areas of practice includes muscular and skeletal conditions, women’s health concerns including fertility, hormone balance, PMS, and menopause, mental health issues, sleep disorders, and stress. Michelle has also shown her dedication to giving back to the community through her volunteer work at Charlotte Maxwell Complementary Clinic. Charlotte Maxwell is a state licensed health clinic providing free complementary alternative medical treatments to low-income women with cancer. Michelle believes in using holistic medical traditions to address primary health issues to provide you with overall wellness care. Each treatment is customized for each patient’s condition, focusing and identifying the factors that hinder optimal health. Not only is the physical body considered but emotional, environmental and spiritual. Each session consists of a detailed initial intake, acupuncture session which may include several modalities, such acupuncture, cupping, gua sha and moxa. Herbal recommendations as well as diet and lifestyle suggestions are an integral part of each session.
In addition to her ABORM studies, Michelle has also completed advanced training with leading authorities in this field, including Raven Lang, L.Ac., an expert in obstetrics and one of the first midwives in California; Debra Betts, NZ Registered Nurse, Dip. Ac., BHSc, a leading expert on the use of prenatal acupuncture; and Jane Lyttleton, BSc (Hons) NZ, MPhil Lond, Dip TCM Aus, Cert Ac, Cert Herbal Medicine, China, one of the world’s foremost authorities on using acupuncture for fertility and in conjunction with IVF.
